We are excited to be a sponsor of the Kiwanis Club’s Flag Project this year! We are helping support area youth and a much-loved community showing of patriotism. The first round of flags are planted on Memorial Day weekend and will appear again on Flag Day, Independence Day and finally Labor Day.
Kiwanis Club of Traverse City: What does Kiwanis do? Kiwanis Club of TC focuses on youth initiatives locally including: Kiwanis Bike Maas Safety Program (partnership with Norte to provide bike safety to youth), Kiwanis Dictionary Project (every 3rd grader receives a Dictionary), Kiwanis Ski School (at Holiday Hills with the Record Eagle, lessons for beginner skiing and snowboarding), Kiwanis Student of the Month (recognizes seniors in high schools all around TC), Kiwanis Sponsored Youth ( ‘mini-Kiwanis clubs’ at elementary, middle (Builders Club) and high school (Key Club) levels), Kiwanis Middle School Track Meet (30 year+ tradition of sponsoring the area-wide middle school track meet), Kiwanis Kids Against Hunger (project whereby over 10,000 meals are packaged for local and international outreach), and many other youth focused initiatives.
